Children always have tons of fun at Pickin’ in the Pines. Our engaging activities have grown and become family traditions for our festival goers who return year after year. There are many organized activities to participate in, and sometimes just relaxing on the lawn makes for the best festival moment.

KidZone

Bring the family to the KidZone for a little creativity, fun, and festival magic! Kids of all ages can enjoy hands-on crafts, make their own unique creations, and take home a special reminder of their weekend at Pickin’ in the Pines. With plenty of activities to inspire young artists—and face painting throughout the day—there’s always something fun happening. Stop by, get creative, and let your imagination shine!
Instrument Petting Zoo
Lacated at the Fine Arts Wing near Workshop Stage

The Instrument Petting Zoo & kids sound stage invites young festival-goers to explore the joy of making music. Kids can get hands-on experience with a variety of instruments—strumming, plucking, and tapping their way through guitars, banjos, fiddles, and more. After trying out the instruments, they can take the spotlight on the Kids Sound Stage, where budding musicians can perform for family and friends in a fun, supportive environment. It’s the perfect way to spark a lifelong love of music!

Interactive Workshop
Located at the Workshop Stage

Young musicians are invited to join in the fun! Bring your own instrument or borrow one of our ukuleles and learn a few songs in this hands-on, interactive workshop. No experience is necessary—just come ready to make music and have fun.
Open to children of all ages and skill levels!
