Kids Activities

Children always have tons of fun at Pickin’ in the Pines. Our engaging activities have grown and become family traditions for our festival goers who return year after year. There are many organized activities to participate in, and sometimes just relaxing on the lawn makes for the best festival moment.

KidZone

Saturday  – 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Sunday  – 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Located inside Pepsi Amphitheater

Let your kids show their creative side at the KidZone, located at the top of the lawn inside the amphitheater. Kids of all ages enjoy using their imagination with the many arts and crafts activities including beadwork, mask making and anything you consider festival wear! Make a homemade souvenir, check out the interactive mural and meet new friends. Volunteers will be painting faces throughout the weekend too!

Pickin’ in the Pines T-Shirt

Celebrate Pickin’ in the Pines 11th Anniversary with a fun T-shirt coloring event. This craft is appropriate for ages 5 – 12. Due to limited number of T-shirts, this activity is on a first come, first serve basis.

Repurposed Rockapella

Join Bookmans in the KidZone as we rock out with recyclables. Using regular household items like cereal boxes and paper towel roles, we create one of a kind instruments. Reduce, reuse and recycle everyday at Bookmans. We welcome your unwanted books, movies and musical instruments that can be traded in for store credit or cash. Bookmans is good for your pocket and good for the planet.

The Bluegrass Workshop for Kids

Saturday 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Navajo Ramada
All ages and levels are welcome to attend this workshop, parents can join in to! Led by Jam Pak Blues ‘N’ Grass Neighborhood Band and FFOTM Young Jammers, come learn songs and how to play. We will provide instruments including guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, bass and mountain dulcimer, or bring your own instrument and join in. Our goal is to have fun and make some joyful music together.

Jam Pak Blues ‘N’ Grass Neighborhood Band from Phoenix performs songs for all ages.

Parents: Please supervise your children in all areas, including children’s activity areas and the campground.
